The Gifted: Utopia - Chapter Six
“What do you mean you saw Michael?” Faith asked.
“I mean… WE just saw him!” Tank said in a rush. “It was like he was a ghost or something.”
“Yeah, we could see right through him.” Chris added. “Freaked me the hell out.”
“He was just as freaked out we were,” Tank said. “He said he thought we were a dream. He seemed scared and confused, but it was definitely Michael.”
“And he said he was being held in Dallas?” Faith asked.
“Yes. That’s what he said. He talked really fast and then he just faded away.” Tank responded. “We have to go get him!”
Faith looked at Sean, who had been silently listening to Tank explain what had transpired on the rooftop. “You saw him too, right?” she asked.
She looked over at Danny and Carrie. Both looked as shocked and confused as she was. “It’s got to be a trap or trick or something.”

“It’s weird. It doesn’t actually hurt at all.” Chris said stoically as he looked at the pool or blood as it spread under his left arm.
“You’re in shock, bro!” Tank said. “Sean… see if you can find an exit wound.”
Sean sat in the middle seat next to Chris with tears streaking down his face. He had just seen OSA bullets rip into his mother right in front of him. His sister Tracy sat behind him in likewise shock.
“Sean, dammit!” Tank snapped. “Chris could be bleeding to death.”
“I’ll do it.” Carrie said. In the confusion Carrie had actually found her way onto the floor of the van. It was her who first noticed the odd red splotch now staining most of Chris’ lime green t-shirt.
“Oh my gosh, it’s sticky!” she said as she felt over his armpit and chest.
“Be careful girl,” Tank guided her. “Is there a hole in his shirt? Check his back.”

Irene and Adam both left as soon as they could, Irene wanted to avoid the upcoming drama as soon as possible. Her parents’ fights were no fun at all because she was always in the middle of the whole thing. “So… where are we going now?”
“Well, I thought we could go and have breakfast, there’s a nice place on the beach.”
“Sounds nice.” She said looking up at him with a bright smile on her face. He seemed to be rather nice. She couldn’t tell if he was her type at all yet, maybe they had things in common, maybe not. She would have to wait and see.
The walk to the said place was a silent one, they both enjoyed the sound of the waves and the morning sunlight on their skin. The mornings in Lullin were always like this, silent and with only a few people walking around the town. After all it was a small town and many people preferred to stay inside with their families.
Once they got there they found a table away from most people and o
The Gifted: Utopia - Chapter One
The room was sterile white; the stark white typical of hospitals. The polished floor shined and had a faint odor of sweetly scented cleaning products. The slow hum of the fluorescent lighting was the only sound he could hear, save for the occasional footfalls outside his door as someone walked past on the imitation marble tiled hallway. The examination table that Sean Miller now found himself resting upon was cold and pliable, its vinyl leather imitation fabric sticking to his clammy hands as he pushed himself up and to his feet. The room was becoming claustrophobic and Sean was getting restless.
“C'mon, already.” he muttered under his breath. It had been at least two hours since they had taken his blood and then just left him waiting in there. There were none of the typical magazines or brochures or anything really to pass the time with - just the steady ticking of the clock on the wall. He had resorted to reading the only poster in the room about three times now. A medica

He slowly went behind her and rested his arms on her shoulders. “Hands off me.” Her words were harsh, but he knew he shouldn’t annoy her. A grin appeared on his lips as he took a few steps back and went back to the couch. “What do you want?” She wasn’t facing him anymore; her eyes were back at the window, watching the busy streets of the capital.
“It’s about what you want Celest. I have an offer for you.” Her head turned around for a few moments, dark grey eyes looking at him with confusion. She didn’t say anything, she would let him finish. “You need me, my kingdom, and my people as allies.” He went back to her again, he was standing almost too close. Yet, she didn’t make any gesture and didn’t say anything to make him keep distance. “And here comes the part with the offer. You’ll have me and my kingdom as allies in case the demons decide to come back. All you have to do is marry me.&

“You know, you have a daughter, I have a son. How convenient, isn’t it?” The woman said with a smirk as she brought her cigarette back to her red lips. “And you need money, my family has money. It would be such a great deal for you.”
“If you really think that I’ll let my daughter near anyone related to you…” He sighed and looked away from the woman. Lydia would kill him if he brought that guy for Irene and he knew it well. “What would you get from this deal anyway?”
“Don’t be so harsh, he’s not like me. Look, you can keep questioning this or you can accept the deal and see if the relationship works between them.” The woman was just a little bit shorter than him, with dark skin and short dirty blond hair. Her ears were pointy and her eyes a dark brown, close to black. “So, what’s your answer?”
“Fine…” He mumbled. He couldn’t believe he was low

“So, how much for the shape shifting stone?”
“Only twenty five gold coins dear.”
“Twenty five? You have to be kidding me.”
“Other merchants sell it for fifty, some for even more. Twenty five or no deal for you, sweetie.”
Irene knew the old lady from the shop too well. She knew her stones were some of the best in Luria and the truth was that they were pretty cheap. She sighed and took twenty five coins out of her pocket. “Here is your money ma’am.”
The old woman took the gold with no hesitation and gave her the small stone. The stone looked like a small pearl, perfectly round but it was red instead of white. “I’m glad I could help you out Irene. By the way, that little stone from your necklace… would you mind letting me study it a little?”
Irene raised an eyebrow, her purple eyes fixed on the woman. “You know I can’t use my magic without it.” The woman knew it too well, but she h

Hybrid Chapter 1
Crouched low to the ground, I look nervously through the bushes, hoping that we are the only ones looking at the grazing deer. We’ve been following the deer for a while now and we’re finally close enough to make a move. Both of us are naturally good at being quiet on our feet, but the wild animals are smarter than ever. It’s been difficult to get anywhere near it.
Since the deer is in the middle of the street about twenty feet away and I’m not holding any ranged weaponry, I’m not in a position to attack. I nod to Shane and he gives me a tense nod back. Slowly and silently he pulls a small knife out of his belt and raises his arm back, keeping his eyes completely focused on his target. With a deep breath he lets the blade fly. The deer realizes what’s happening just a second too late. It scrambles away but the knife thrusts into its back left leg and it falls into a patch of grass.
We’re immediately running out of the bushes to
